Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Umut Koseoglu ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Terminos application and website (the "Service"). We designed Terminos to be local-first: your source code, terminal activity, and Claude Code session data stay on your device.

The short version: Terminos runs on your Mac and reads your Claude Code data locally to display it. It does not upload your code, transcripts, or project files to us, and it has no telemetry by default. The only personal data we handle is what's needed to sell and support subscriptions — and payments are processed by Paddle, not us.

1. Data processed on your device (not sent to us)

To provide its core features, Terminos reads and processes the following locally on your computer. This information is not transmitted to our servers:

  • Claude Code session transcripts and configuration stored under your home directory (for example ~/.claude), used to show context, token/cost, and activity.
  • Your project files, Git repositories, and terminal input/output.
  • Credentials you enter for third-party tools (for example secondary AI providers or MCP servers), stored using the macOS Keychain and local storage on your device.

If you enable an optional feature that sends content to a third-party provider you configure (for example a "consensus" review by another AI model, or a cloud MCP server), that content goes directly from your machine to that provider under their terms — not through us.

2. Information we collect

  • Purchase & account data: when you subscribe, we receive limited order information from Paddle, such as your email address, country, and subscription status. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
  • Support data: if you contact us, we receive the information you choose to share (for example your email and message).
  • Website data: our website may collect basic, aggregate technical information (such as page requests) needed to operate and secure the site. The application itself sends no analytics by default.

3. Payments

Payments are handled by Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects and processes billing information and taxes under its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing Paddle's privacy notice for details on how it handles payment data.

4. How we use information

  • To provide, maintain, and support the Service and your subscription.
  • To send you essential account, billing, and security communications.
  • To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us operate (for example Paddle for payments, and infrastructure/email providers), and where required by law. These providers may only use the information to perform services for us.

6. Data retention

We keep account and transaction records for as long as needed to provide the Service and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, then delete or anonymize them. Data stored locally by the app remains on your device under your control and can be removed by deleting the app's data or the app itself.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@terminos.dev. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we hold. On-device, sensitive credentials are stored using the macOS Keychain. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

10. International users

We and our providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
